Our Saviour Community Garden

Saturday April 28 -- 9 am to 4 pm

Details:  This fundraiser and general open house is held each year at the East Dallas and Our Saviour Community Gardens.  Visitors come to tour the gardens and purchase herbs, flowers, and vegetables.  At the East Dallas sale our Asian American gardeners offer some of their special Asian herbs and vegetables.  Sale plants are grown by community gardeners or donated by local nurseries.  The funds raised help support Gardeners in Community Development’s projects, which include gardens that donate freshly harvested produce to food pantries, gardening educational programs for children and adults, regional community gardening training, and neighborhood beautification and involvement.  For more information about our programs and gardens, or to volunteer in a community garden to harvest produce for food pantries, go to www.gardendallas.org.

For more information call:  Don Lambert at 972-231-3565.

Free Admission

Plant Sources:  GICD grows many herbs (especially basils) and pepper plants that are sold only during the plant sale.  In addition, many local merchants, nurseries, and growers donate wonderful flowers, bedding plants, and some perennials.  We never know in advance just what will be there, but sale visitors are usually pleased with the selection and the opportunity to support community gardening in Dallas.

Plant sale donors usually include:

Jimmy's Food Store Green Lake Nursery
YC Nursery Growing and Giving Home Schoolers
Covington's Nursery  Pleasant Grove Food Pantry
Bruce Miller Nursery Ruibal's Plants of Texas
Aggie Feed Store Garden Cafe

We will have a poster for downloading a couple of months before the sales.    Sale Poster.
