Our Saviour Community Garden

1616 N. Jim Miller Rd, Dallas

Saturday April 24--9 am to 4 pm

Details:  This fundraiser and general open house is held each year at the East Dallas and Our Saviour Community Gardens.  Visitors come to tour the gardens and purchase herbs, flowers, and vegetables.  At the East Dallas sale our Asian American gardeners offer some of their special Asian herbs and vegetables.  Sale plants are grown by community gardeners or donated by local nurseries.  The funds raised help support Gardeners in Community Development’s projects, which include gardens that donate freshly harvested produce to food pantries, gardening educational programs for children and adults, regional community gardening training, and neighborhood beautification and involvement.  For more information about our programs and gardens, or to volunteer in a community garden to harvest produce for food pantries, go to www.gardendallas.org.

For more information call:  Don Lambert at 972-231-3565.

Free Admission

Plant Sources:  GICD grows many herb (especially basils) and pepper plants (usually available only at Our Saviour) that are sold only during the plant sale.  In addition, many local merchants, nurseries, and growers donate wonderful herbs, flowers, and perennials.  We never know in advance just what will be there, but sale visitors are usually pleased with the selection and the opportunity to support community gardening in Dallas.

Notable plant sale donors in recent years have included:

Jimmy's Food Store Green Lake Nursery
North Haven Gardens Nortex Wholesale Nursery
Rohdes Nursery Vickery Wholesale Nursery
Bruce Miller Nursery Ruibal's Plants of Texas
YC Nursery Casa Flora, Inc.
